Step Into the Jury Room…
The Dolphin Playhouse is proud to announce auditions for Twelve Angry Jurors, a timeless courtroom drama that feels strikingly relevant today. Audiences are transported into the jury room, where twelve strangers must come together to decide the fate of a young man accused of murdering his father. What unfolds is a clash of personalities, morals, and motivations, an exploration of how quickly we rush to judgment, how personal truths can be clouded, and how one voice can change a life.
A Play Built on Ensemble
This production thrives on its ensemble cast. Each juror is distinct, with unique personalities, backgrounds, and perspectives. Together, they create the stormy deliberations that drive the play. Every role is essential, shaping the fabric of the story.
Auditions are important, but nothing to fear. We welcome actors of all backgrounds and levels of experience, whether you’re stepping on stage for the first time or returning as a seasoned performer. What matters most is your ability to bring these characters to life and embrace the shared experience of creating something meaningful together.
Though the work is serious, it is outweighed by the joy, pride, and camaraderie of theatre. Cast members will collide in tension and humanity on stage, then connect offstage in friendship and laughter. Theatre is hard work, but it is also deeply rewarding, an experience that transforms both actor and audience.
Roles Available
- 12–15 actors of any gender
- Wide range of personalities and backgrounds (see audition packet for juror bios)
- All roles are meaningful; some carry more dialogue, but every juror shapes the story
Audition Details
- Date: Saturday, November 29 – 2 PM and Sunday, November 30 – 6:30 PM
- (If you would like to audition but cannot attend, please contact the director for a private audition – Performances will be held on February 6th-8th and 13th-15th)
- Location: The Dolphin Playhouse
- Format: Cold readings from provided sides
- Preparation: Minimal preparation encouraged. Please review the juror bios and consider 2–3 characters you’d enjoy playing. You’ll read from provided sides at auditions.
- Invitation: Actors of all backgrounds and experience levels are encouraged to audition.
